OPEN CALL FOR CONNECTATHON PARTICIPATION
The HL7 Vulcan accelerator proposes to improve clinical research infrastructure by using FHIR to send and receive data to trial sponsors and regulatory bodies.
Vulcan will host a virtual FHIR Connectathon to test three important implementation guides July 7 & 8, 2026
APIX / ePI / PQI – real-time regulatory data exchange for ePI and PQI using the APIX standard, replacing traditional batch-based submissions with API-driven interactions
FHIR to OMOP – test and refine mappings defined in the Vulcan FHIR-to-OMOP project
Schedule of Activities – refocus IG testing to use FHIR Questionnaire resources
We encourage the following types of systems to participate in testing the IGs:
Electronic Health Records or Data Capture Systems to input the data and create an endpoint
Intermediary systems to retrieve the data and a)populate forms or other systems or b) send the data to a Clinical Trial Management System or regulatory agency
Clinical Trial Management Systems to retrieve the data and send it to the FDA’s endpoint
Please contact Sandy Vance, HL7 FHIR Connectathon Administrator at sandy@counterpointsol.com with any questions about this event.
